-
How does the project use Superfluid? (e.g., deep integration, uses SuperTokens …) - Everything we build is based on Superfluid. Our current product lineup includes launchpads and live instances of the following:
- Streaming Quadratic Funding - Continuous quadratic matching driven by donation streams. Use Case = Community Grant Rounds
- Flow Splitters - Simple, flexible management of many-to-many streams for teams, guilds, DAOs, & communities. Use Cases - Guilds, Revenue/Grant Splits, & Streaming Programmatic Rewards
- Flow Councils (Private Beta; public this month) - Direct voting on the allocation of streams to an arbitrary number of recipients. Use Cases - Ecosystem Grants, Frontier Guilds, Dynamic DAO Budgeting

We don’t charge any user fees. 100% of streams on the platform go to the recipients. We do accept direct stream donations.
- User Persona -
- Open Source Supporters - Individuals who open donation streams and/or vote in Flow State funding rounds; top-of-the-funnel exposure to Superfluid streams
- Allocators - Pool operators and sponsors that initiate streaming funding rounds; opportunities for “B2B” Superfluid adoption
- Builders - Recipients of streaming funding on the platform; streaming income is the best onramp for other streaming use cases—DCA, subscriptions, etc
- KPI to be incentivised by SUP -
- Streaming donations (including sponsors)
- Social Sharing
- Referred Donors
Flow State - Season 2 SPR Strategy TLDR
-
More grantees = More people with an incentive to help with distribution
-
More high-quality grantees = More & diverse options for supporters to stream to
-
More funding rounds = More communities making Superfluid part of their growth & engagement strategy
-
More Superfluid ecosystem collaborations = More cross-campaign SUP claims & stickiness
-
More rewards for distribution = More exposure and funding volume
Proposal Outline
When Season 1 launched, we only had one funding round active (Octant SQF), which had already exhausted its primary 15 ETH matching pool. It was still a massive success with a peak of ~1,400 active streams and sustained participation between 1,100 ~ 1,300 streams. Our Core Flow Splitter round went from 0 to sustaining .7~.8 ETHx/mo in donations for the duration of the season.
Users responded to the incentives by opening and maintaining streams for three months. But for stream volume to continuously grow throughout the season, we need more variety, quality, and a focus on distribution. We’ve been hard at work building products and relationships to do just that.
In Season 2, we will have one or more live rounds for each of our 3 current products. Not all round details are finalized, but we are confident in launching rounds with the named partners below and have strong leads on additional launches. We would therefore request an allocation of $SUP for the Flow State platform, so that we can have the flexibility to include new funding rounds as they launch. Our proposed approach to $SUP allocation is outlined below:
- Flow Councils
- Collaboration with GoodDollar to distribute an allocation of their pure Super Token G$ on Celo through a Flow Council to a curated grantee set
- All verified GoodDollar users will be eligible to vote on the allocation
- They’ll earn one-time/fixed SPR XP for submitting a ballot
- They can earn a bonus for sharing the funding round on X and/or Warpcast
- We’ll integrate our UI & marketing with GoodDollar to create strong funnels for more users to join the GoodDollar ecosystem, start earning G$ UBI, and become cross-claimers
- Any user can also stream G$ to the distribution pool to earn additional SUP rewards.
- All verified GoodDollar users will be eligible to vote on the allocation
- Our Flow Council launchpad will be live before the end of May. High-quality rounds with validated funding commitments would also be eligible for Season 2 SUP rewards. This ability to offer SUP rewards to round sponsors makes for a strong pitch and would help drive more communities’ adoption of Superfluid.
- Unlike quadratic funding, Flow Council participation doesn’t require financial outlays, which is a positive in many contexts, but this means that we must be cautious with Sybil resistance requirements and the structure of SUP rewards for just voting. Round operators don’t want their rounds overrun by Sybils either.

- Flow Splitter
- We will launch a permanent streaming funding endpoint & allocation mechanism for Guild Guild.
- Guild Guild is advancing the public goods funding & collective bargaining concepts pioneered by Protocol Guild for the rest of Ethereum.
- The guild model simplifies donation decisions for supporters and can lead to more efficient funding allocation and legitimacy through the guild’s self-curating membership. It is a perfect fit for Flow Splitters and Superfluid. If Guild Guild is successful, many other guilds will adopt streaming.
- Donations will be open to all. Direct donation volume will linearly correlate to SUP rewards (i.e., there isn’t an incentive to Sybil like in QF). Recipients are prohibited from self-donating.
- Create a permanent streaming funding endpoint & allocation mechanism for Greenpill Dev Guild
- Greenpill Dev Guild is the second guild adopter of Flow Splitters.
- They’re an active community of builders that can get stream-pilled through this funding experience and go on to build cool things in the Superfluid ecosystem.
- Donations will be open to all. Direct donation volume will linearly correlate to SUP rewards (i.e., there isn’t an incentive to Sybil like in QF). Recipients are prohibited from self-donating.
- Continue the Flow State Core funding round
- This is how we collect & split optional direct donations from users. With momentum this quarter, we hope to grow our collective.
- Sybil resistance isn’t required. Direct donation volume will linearly correlate to SUP rewards.

- Permissionless Launches
- Anyone can utilize our Flow Splitter launchpad, but to avoid farming abuse, we’ll selectively whitelist them for SUP eligibility after engaging with the operators.
- We will launch a permanent streaming funding endpoint & allocation mechanism for Guild Guild.
- SQF
- Octant
- Our Octant SQF round continues to flow (190 days & counting!). Several grantees have stated how integral this round has been for finding project sustainability. We’ll keep this round running to reinforce that sustainability value prop. We are actively working with the Octant team to integrate SQF (and Superfluid more broadly) into their v2 protocol—launch date pending. While this longer-term work develops, we will explore ways with the Octant team to refresh interest in the live SQF round (e.g., grantee renewal and/or funding).
- Gitcoin Grants Round 24 (Target)
- With the sunset of Gitcoin Grants Lab & Grants Stack (the company & the software that have run the Gitcoin Grant rounds for the last several years), one of the most visible, long-running, and biggest grants programs appears to be going multi-mechanism and community-led. Timing, structure, and $ are all TBD. We will throw our hat into the ring for GG24 and believe we will have a strong value prop (especially with SPR support).
- Open call for SQF rounds
- We’re ready to launch and run SQF rounds for any community! We’d be especially excited to use a pure Super Token (like Nerite’s USDN when it launches) as the matching and direct donation token because of the UX gains through avoiding wrapping.
- Again, this ability to offer SUP rewards to round sponsors makes for a strong pitch and would help drive more communities’ adoption of Superfluid.
- Octant
- Distribution Incentives
- Across all these rounds, we want to utilize a portion of any SUP allocation granted on rewards for spreading the word about $SUP, Superfluid, & Flow State. We’ve started conversations with the Superfluid core team to discuss technical feasibility and design, but at a high level, this is what we’re thinking:
- Fixed XP bonuses or multipliers for sharing links to a Flow State funding round AFTER a user has voted or donated in a round
- Stretch Goal - % XP rewards based on the volume of streams from users referred via your link
