Season 2 Ideas - Giveth

Hi there! I am a Product Manager at Giveth and I led the implementation of Superfluid into Giveth.

About the Integration :information_source:

As you may know we implemented Recurring Donations around Q3 of last year using Superfluid.

This allows donors to stream their donations over time to projects, and donors can easily spin up money streams to multiple projects in various tokens on both Base and Optimism.

We allow users to wrap/unwrap super tokens, modify their flowrate and end streams all from the Giveth app, the user never has to go to the superfluid dashboard, while still getting a robust streaming experience.

I believe the value Superfluid provides to donors is the ease of streaming constant support to dozens, or even hundreds of projects simultaneously. All the donor needs to do is keep their balance of super tokens topped up and the protocol takes care of the rest!

Impact of S1 Rewards :oncoming_fist:

The S1 SUP Rewards has significantly boosted the volume of recurring donations happening on Giveth.

The greatest challenge of this feature is getting people to try it out, many crypto donors are used to the “single donation” experience, making it hard to convince them to try out something new.

The S1 program increased the USD value of recurring donations going through Giveth by nearly 400%! A tremendous impact.

You can see here a break of the monthly numbers for recurring donations.

month Nov, 2024 Dec, 2024 Jan, 2025 Feb, 2025 Mar, 2025 Apr, 2025
:backhand_index_pointing_up: S1 Started
$ usd value $404 $463 $407 $798 $1,311 $1,598
monthly growth 14.5% -12.0% 96.0% 64.2% 21.9%

I’ll admit these numbers are small but the impact is clear, as soon as S1 rewards started things heated up significantly. Recurring Donations has great retention as this keeps most users active in donating over several months and are incentivized to keep supporting long into the future.

Feedback for S2

Giveth would LOVE to be included in S2 rewards program. We think however increasing the minimum donated to become eligible would help Giveth improve its numbers and encourage more funding to flow into public goods and non-profits listed on our platform.

Currently the minimum was $5(?) total streamed to start receiving a SUP stream. I believe setting a min cap of $20 per month and ensuring users maintain their stream throughout the program would encourage sustained support. The user must have streamed at least $20 worth of tokens in order to start receiving SUP rewards.

In addition, for partners like us it would be nice to have a reference article we can use to answer questions from our users. Many support tickets came our way asking what people need to do to get SUP, where can they claim etc… an organized article with all the details would make it easier for our support team to handle related queries.

We also struggled with claiming our own SUP streams from Multisigs we own. It seems to be impossible because of the SIWE requirement to claim.

Thank you for all the love from the Superfluid team and including us in S1!

I hope Giveth and Superfluid can maintain our strong partnership well into the Seasons to come!

Thanks for the proposal, Mitch. I like what you all area doing and congrats on the growth this last season.

I just tried Giveth out myself and set up my first recurring stream. A reference article makes sense, but I wonder if it would also be helpful to your users to educate them directly in the UI (i.e., “You’re now earning SUP as a bonus. Click here for more information”?

That’s a great idea! If we get into Season 2 this is a great addition to make it more clear for users on getting $SUP.
