Overview
G$ is deployed as a native SuperToken on Celo, enabling programmable money and real-time streaming of value. Streaming is used to distribute builder funding, contributor rewards, and ecosystem incentives continuously rather than through one-time payments.
To date, GoodDollar has created over 4,306 Superfluid streams, with 653 currently active streams distributing approximately 3,865,875 G$ per day via Superfluid. (https://explorer.superfluid.org/celo/supertokens/0x62b8b11039fcfe5ab0c56e502b1c372a3d2a9c7a?tab=streams)
For Season 5, we propose expanding streaming-based incentives that strengthen builder participation, community, and ecosystem engagement. We want to continue our dual incentive structure, combining incentives for builder ecosystem participation and incentives for community participation such as claims, donations, and engagement.
1. Builder Initiatives (GoodBuilders x Flow State x Gardens)
We’ve just launched GoodBuilders Season 3, our flagship builder program in collaboration with Flow State. The season ends in May.
This program uses the G$ SuperToken capabilities to stream funding directly to builders in real time, instead of distributing grants as a one-time payment. Funding flows continuously to projects as they build and contribute, based on Mentor voting, community voting and objective metrics. Streaming is every second, and voting is also dynamic during the whole round.
In Season 3, $50,000 in G$ will be streamed to participating projects over the course of the round.
This creates a live environment for programmable funding, demonstrating how streaming rewards can support builders dynamically, reinforce accountability, and align incentives across the ecosystem.
As part of ecosystem collaboration, Gardens has opened the GoodDollar ecosystem community, allowing participating projects to receive streaming funds and redirect them into their own Gardens pools for transparent allocation and ecosystem growth.
Use of SUP Rewards.
We want to leverage SUP rewards to incentivize meaningful participation from the community and strengthen ecosystem engagement during the round.
Specifically, SUP rewards can be used to incentivize:
- Donations to the Pool
During the round, donations are made to a shared pool that supports all participating projects. Incentivizing donations increases the total funding available and strengthens collective support for builders. Donations can be a one time donations or opening a stream.
2. Community Voting Participation
25% of the total funding allocation is determined by community voting.
We want to incentivize more community members to actively vote, discover new projects, and participate in shaping the ecosystem. This increases visibility for builders and strengthens decentralized allocation.
As part of Season 5, we will explore supporting ecosystem participants and partners in launching their own Flow Councils using G$ streaming infrastructure. These potential sub-campaigns would expand the number of streaming-based funding initiatives and increase overall Superfluid usage within the GoodDollar ecosystem.
